Scott and Dan in the studio

Well, I’ve been asked numerous times over the years to teach a class in audiobook narration, but for whatever reason it just hasn’t worked out. Until now!

Ray Nakamoto, of Nakamoto Productions, recently got in touch and convinced me to take the trek up north to Sacramento, California to teach this class. We’ll be convening in his studio at 10:30 AM on Sunday, July 27th. The class will be three hours long, and will cover a number of topics, including:

* How to record an audiobook demo

* How to market yourself effectively to publishers

* How to differentiate character voices from narrative

* Where to do your online research

* Recognizing and interpreting the author’s voice

So, if any of you out there have ever yearned to be a narrator and will be anywhere near the Sacramento area at the end of July, I encourage you to get in touch with Ray and sign up for this class. I’m eagerly looking forward to it.

And for those of you in the Los Angeles area who are wondering when I’ll ever get around to teaching here in my home town, let’s just say I’m open to the idea, just waiting for the right local venue.

In the meantime, hop on a plane! Sacramento’s only an hour away.

Thanks for listening,

Scott
