Scott,

As an amateur podcaster and LibriVox volunteer, I'd be very interested to hear about your audio rig. (I hope this isn't a breach of voice actor protocol :-) I am an amateur, after all.)

Also, how do you manage such a prodigious throughput as 100 pages a day? It takes me a week to record a five-page chapter for LibriVox (when you factor in the time it takes to edit out all of my mistakes). Granted, you are a professional, and I won't be able to do as much as you do without spending as much time and money developing the craft as you have. But any tips for a hobbyist?

Thanks for your help!

And cool blog! I loved your YouTube video.

Hi, everybody, Scott here. First, I wanted to say thanks so much for the comments. It's nice to see that people are finding my little corner of the internet, and are saying such nice things about the work.

As for ToddL's question, just to let you know, FATAL REVENANT is complete, recorded and edited, but we're awaiting the lawyers to sign off on the digital distribution. (A convoluted way of saying it should hopefully only be another week.) It will be very soon, I promise, please hang in there. We'll shoot you a note as soon as it's ready.

Best,

Dear Scott,
when will Fatal Revenant by SRDonaldson be available. I'm an avid listener with no time to read the hard book and I've lamented the delay in getting the audio version. Any update would truely be appreciated.

Welcome to blogging Scott!
Audiobooks can be an overlooked area of VO, so I'm glad to see you writing about it.

Great story. I love how easy it is these days to find some great communities to play in!

Scott,

I'm really glad to find your site. Like Luke's dad, I am also addicted to audio books--tape and CD. One of my current frustrations is that it's getting very difficult to find a Walkman tape player. Sony only offers one model. I recently purchased a couple of them just as backups.

You are one of my favorite narrators. You really capture the tone and attitude of the characters. When I'm looking for new books to listen to when I exercise in the morning, rather than look for the author or title of a book, sometimes I will put in your name in library search engine just to see what comes up. I can't remember all the titles I've listened to you that you narrated, but most recently it's been a couple by Joseph Finder. Great entertainment. Keep up the good work. I look forward to future postings.

Cool site, Scott. Look forward to reading more insider reports from the audiobook world. And I particularly liked a book you read which is now a #2 bestseller, "In Defense of Food." Bravo!

I am an enormous fan of audio books--but an even bigger than enormous fan of *Scott reading audio books*. And he taped this message only a couple of weeks ago? Seriously, I'm in love. Hope the chapstick and water and green apples hold out forever. Wishing you much success!

It's great that you grabbed the bull by the horns, and decided to buy the rights for an Audiobook version of 'Fatal Revenant'. I wish you every success, and also to prove how short sighted some publishers are!

Whole heartedly agree with your comments about the previous books in the Thomas Covenant series. It's hard to fathom out why someone hasn't done an Audiobook version yet on what probably ranks as one of the greatest achievements in modern fantasy.

Finally, I profess to the fact that I haven't listened to a great many of the books you've narrated, but on the Orson Scott Card ones, the tone of your voice and style of narration make you a natural for his writing.
